ABC Motorcycles England 1912-23
All British (Engine) Co was founded near Brooklands race track in England. The famed Granville Bradshaw was one of the engineers who helped build unique ABC platform. The main feature of ABC was that it was French built Gnome and Rhone flat-twin ohv engine mounted in line with the frame and the cylinders were also inline with each other. This was major innovation for the time and required a non-traditional engine set-up including 3 connecting rods, two of which spanned both pistons. Ball and roller bearings were used for the crankshaft which was unique for the time as well. In addition ABC also built the Skootamota scooter as on the post WWI scooter.
